					  We had an excellent family lunch for 14 people including 2 toddlers. We were made to feel very welcome . Nothing was too much trouble, there were even sofas and... read more a little table next to the table for the children to use.

The food was very good and tasted delicious, we had the Sunday roast, the meats were tender accompanied by vegetables served piping hot with gravy which made the meal complete. I especially liked the chocolate fondant for dessert, my brother really enjoyed the strudel.

Overall I would highly recommend this delightful country pub.

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Called in for lunch and was met by very welcoming staff. Unsure about which beer so offered us a taster. We both ordered the steak and ale pie that came with 'chips' that were a cross with roast potato wedges  - they were very tasty. All in all a great pub. Would call again but live 45 miles away 😢

It’s a really cosy spot with nice seating outside but the food was a disgrace. The children had pasta which tasted like it was prepared in the dishwasher and we had Caesar salade that had nothing to do with a Caesar salade besides the fact that it came with chicken that was so dry I could’ve hit a hole in one if I had my 3-iron on me.

Beautiful little pub, Jenny (Jennie?! Sorry if I spelt it wrong!) sorted us a nice spot in the shade under a parasol outside and an ice cold pint of coke to cool down! :-)

Friendly pub if you can find it tucked away in the middle of nowhere. Very dog friendly and serving good food. Good selection of beers and outdoor seating with a boules area.

Had lunch with my wife , son and daughter in law. The food and service was excellent. Portion sizes were large and the pies were wonderful and veg was all really fresh. All in all a great meal.

Great local place. Food was really nice and “real” (made with proper, good ingredients). I had venison sandwich (one of the day’s specials) and it was great, with a nice amount of venison in it. The two young ladies working there are simply lovely.

Pop in for a drink, stop for a gorgeous meal, Book yourself in for the monthly quiz. Go on your own, with family, with friends. We went as a couple first time, and since then have done all of the above. Great find.

I go to the Hook and Glove every couple of months, usually either cycling or walking. Sometimes I just have a drink, sometimes a delicious lunch, freshly cooked with fresh ingredients, always with a special twist.
