Yes, we have worked hard to ensure that the restaurant, bar areas and outside gardens follow government guidelines. These include all staff wearing PPE equipment, social distancing on the premises and the recording of all details of people visiting the establishment.
Yes! We pride ourselves in our freshly prepared dishes, cooked from scratch in our kitchen. We take deliveries of fresh food throughout the week and prepare our meals using these. Occasionally we will freeze particular ingredients, but only when freezing does not affect or reduce their taste and texture.
Yes, as often as possible. Our meat comes from local farmers, our vegetables from local growers. We try very hard to reduce the miles our food has traveled, not only for environmental reasons but also because local tastes better!
We are an independent pub and proud of it too! This means that we can cook the food we, and our customers, want and serve the beer we know our customers like to drink!
We do, all from local breweries. Downton Brewery, Hopback, Keystone, Avon and Stonehenge beers have all be served by us over the years.
We also have several lagers and ciders, as well as wines and spirits, and, of course, soft drinks.
We are a small and very popular pub, and, with social distancing measures, we are now working on a reduced number of tables. As a result we do recommend that you book your table in advance. However, if you are passing and happen to drop in, we will do all we can to accommodate you.
Yes, we love dogs, muddy ones, big ones and bouncy ones too, as long as they are well behaved and kept on a lead. We’ll make sure they have a free dog biscuit (if allowed by their owner) and a drink too.
Yes, we have plenty of space and rein-ties for horses.
