					  Terry and Nicky have transformed this pub since taking it on in 2024. It is warm, bright and welcoming. The food and drink is excellent. It's a gem !

					  Fabulous bbq food, fabulous staff, fabulous garden and fabulous atmosphere. What more could we want. Friday in the summer is BBQ night with the chef Alex( excellent person by the... read more way) cooking Al fresco your meal to order. We had lamb chops followed by sticky toffee pudding and drinks for £36. AMAZING value. Highly recommended. Give it a go.

About our pub

The Hook and Glove, a short and pleasant drive from Salisbury, is set located in Farley, one of the prettiest villages in Wiltshire.

Farley is a beautiful village in the South of Wiltshire, about 5 miles East of Salisbury. It is unique in having a large Christopher Wren inspired church (which is open to visitors) and the stunning Grade 1 “Farley Hospital” built at the same time.

A footpath from the pub opens directly onto open fields with lovely varied walks (including bluebell woods in the spring). We have two log fires in the winter.

You can be assured of a very warm welcome and friendly, informal atmosphere.

We are dog friendly in both the “snug” bar and the restaurant area and we guarantee to make a fuss of our canine visitors.

OUTSIDE

We have a very sunny large front "watch the world go by" terrace (although it's a very quiet road to watch!) and a large garden in the back.

To the rear we have a beautiful fenced garden with far reaching stunning country views, safe for children and dogs, a petanque pitch (free of charge) and a large terrace for those who prefer to enjoy the view away from the hustle and bustle.

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Called in for lunch and was met by very welcoming staff. Unsure about which beer so offered us a taster. We both ordered the steak and ale pie that came with 'chips' that were a cross with roast potato wedges  - they were very tasty. All in all a great pub. Would call again but live 45 miles away 😢

It’s a really cosy spot with nice seating outside but the food was a disgrace. The children had pasta which tasted like it was prepared in the dishwasher and we had Caesar salade that had nothing to do with a Caesar salade besides the fact that it came with chicken that was so dry I could’ve hit a hole in one if I had my 3-iron on me.

Beautiful little pub, Jenny (Jennie?! Sorry if I spelt it wrong!) sorted us a nice spot in the shade under a parasol outside and an ice cold pint of coke to cool down! :-)
